How to REALLY Forgive: Parts 3–6 Steps Toward Genuine Forgiveness

Last blog we said that forgiveness is participating in something supernatural. It is a choice to be like God by depending on God for the grace to love those who have hurt and offended us. Today we want to outline the actual steps of the forgiveness process.

Step 1. Put words to who and what exactly need to be forgiven and grieve the event.

Anger: What It Is and What to Do about It—Part Four

Anger: What It Is and What to Do about It—Part Four

Welcome back to my fourth of five blogs on anger.

In my previous blogs I've said it's easy to sin when we're angry. Therefore, we're taking a close look at Psalm 4:4-5 which says, "In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your heart and be silent. Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD." That's our goal throughout this series. We're learning four steps in searching our hearts when we're angry so we can offer right sacrifices as we trust in the LORD.

Present or Impatient?

Present or Impatient?

Learning to walk with God means living in the present moment. When God first called his chosen people, he led them into a wilderness and fed them with manna. God provided for each day only. Any extra the people gathered became useless. God designed it that way so his children would learn to trust and depend on him day by day and moment by moment. In times of discouragement I’ve been strengthened by how the old hymn goes: Day by day and with each passing moment, strength I find to meet my trials here. Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment, I’ve no cause for worry or for fear. He who’s heart is kind beyond all measure gives unto each day what he deems best. And remember Abraham. He too walked with God by faith. He didn’t know where he was going but he knew who he was following.
